BOH Cameronian Arts Awards
In partnership with BOH Plantations, the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards is Malaysia’s premier awards in recognition of excellence and outstanding work in the performing arts.
Kelab YSD-Kakiseni Junior
Kelab YSD-Kakiseni Junior is an initiative to to connect public schools to Malaysian artists. Each participating school receives a resident artist to lead Kelab YSD-Kakiseni Junior activities during school’s co-curricular session.
Kakiseni Junior
An online platform for parents and teachers to find creative classes for their children and students. All proceeds of bookings will go to our outreach program, Seni Making A Difference (SeniMAD). Supported by Yayasan Sime Darby.
Hikayat Series & Workshop
Co-published by Kakiseni and MPH Publishing, Hikayat aims to capture the allure and magic of local traditional art by weaving them into stories for children to kindle their – and their parents’ – interest in Malaysian traditional art.
Seni Making A Difference (SeniMAD)
Since 2015, with support from partners like Prudential and Yayasan Sime Darby – the programme has impacted over 350 children in 10 communities. Public are welcome to contibute by paying forward lessons’ fees on kakisenijunior.com or donate used musical instruments.
The Other Festival, Ipoh
The Other Festival is a celebration of the living art, culture and heritage of Ipoh Old Town. Launched in 2015 with the support Perak State Government and the Perak Tourism Board, this annual festival aims to highlight the creative side of Ipoh and reveal the stories behind the city’s heritage buildings.
SeniKidZ
Focusing on traditional art like Wayang (shadowplay), this modular programme was designed in 2019 with 10 ASEAN youths. Dedicated for Gen Z and the younger generation. The programme has over 100 young alumni.
ASEAN Puppetry Conference
In 2015, as part of Hari UNESCO Malaysia, Kakiseni organised and hosted the ASEAN Puppetry Conference in Kuala Lumpur to enable practitioners of traditional puppet theatre to exchange ideas and practices about their craft.
