By , 28 March 2013

RUTHLESS and power-hungry Empress Wu leads this year’s BOH Cameronian Arts Awards (BCAA) which will happen on May 1 at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur.

The nominees for all 35 categories at the 13th BCAA were announced on Monday. Pun Kai Loon’s musical on China’s first and only female emperor received 15 nomindations, followed by another musical, Everworld, with nine nods.

Organised by local arts platform Kakiseni, the “Cammies” is the only awards event which judges “live” music, dance, theatre and musical theatre in Malaysia.

This year’s pop-art themed ceremony promises to be the biggest and most inclusive yet, with an open awards night at Pavilion ‘s Centre Court where the public will be able to catch a glimpse of the show.

Preceding the awards night, there will be a 10-day arts festival in and around Pavilion featuring local and international acts in theatre shows, music performances, busking, street parades, visual art installations and forum discussions.
