Backers Audition Kuala Lumpur 2012

By , 10 April 2012

Just today, during the 9th Boh Cameronian Technical Awards presentation held at Cinnamon, One World Hotel between 3pm – 5pm, The Backers Audition Kuala Lumpur 2012 was announced and the logo was unveiled.

The Main Objective:

The main objective of the Backers Audition is to enlist funding and resources support from the private sector to improve the financial performance and the sustainability of performing arts organisations and practitioners.

To help arts organizations provide ongoing, high-quality programs, the Backers enlisted will support the creation and presentation of work by professional artists; not limited to but including dance, literary events, music, theater, visual arts, multimedia, and interdisciplinary works.

Some backers have indeed identified a particular interest in works that include related public programs – for example, programs that engage audiences in discussion about the content of the work or outreach workshops as well as projects that provide rural communities with greater access to arts programming.

However, many more backers are keen to support programs that are entertaining, with creative storytelling treatments and champions freedom of expressions. Some also favour collaborative exchanges on an international platform.

In short, let’s put our best foot forward and may our work and creative intent speak for themselves. Good luck and may this be the beginning of a great future for the performing arts industry!

The event will be held on 27 April 2012 at One World Hotel. Download the form here.
